Description
This course is designed for users of Creo who want to enhance their product design with simulation and analysis to reduce costly physical prototyping. All whilst using the Ansys flagship solver without leaving the Creo Environment
Agenda
Day 1
Module 1 – Capabilities Overview and Theoretical Basis of Structural Mechanics
A basic run through of the underlying theory, the Creo Ansys UI and how to set up a basic FE model.
Module 2 – Problem Statement, Modelling Approach and Simplifications in FEM
Introduce the main workshop problem for the course and cover common simplification techniques to improve the model efficiency
Module 3 – Materials & Geometry
How to treat define material properties and how to treat CAD geometry in FEM.
Module 4 – Applying Loads and Boundary Conditions
Understand what is meant by a boundary condition and a load in FEM and how to apply those in Creo Ansys.
Day 2
Module 5 – Connections
Defining interface types between parts in an assembly
Module 6 – Meshing
A basic overview of creating a FE mesh, and a deeper look at the methods of mesh refinement
Module 7 – Analysis Settings
A deeper look into setting up an analysis available in Creo Ansys
Module 8 – Post-Processing and Model Validation
How to extract the necessary data from your model and validate the results
Day 3
Module 9 – Introduction to Structural Nonlinearities
Introduce the three main types of nonlinearities in FEM and how to access these in Creo Ansys
Module 10 – Element Idealisations
Introduce different types of finite element idealisations that are commonly used to improve the efficiency of a model and where they may be appropriate
Module 11 – Introduction to Structural Dynamics and Modal Analysis
A basic overview of the underlying theory of dynamic analysis and how to set up a basic modal analysis in Creo Ansys
Module 12 – Introduction to Thermal Analysis
A basic overview of the three methods of heat transfer and how to set up a basic thermal analysis in Creo Ansys
