Creo Simulate enables you to simulate designs to establish the effects of structural and thermal loads on the products performance.

In this course, you will understand the fundamental principles of the finite element method and how to perform simulations using Creo Simulate. The course includes hands-on workshops that guide you through the user interface explaining how simulations are setup and how to interpret the results. You will cover mechanical, thermal and design optimisation studies.

On completing the course, you will be able to perform engineering analyses and optimisation studies on your product designs. At the end of each module, you will complete a skills assessment. This assessment will help reinforce your understanding of the topic covered.

Day 1

Module 1 -Overview

A basic run through of the Creo Simulate UI and how to set up a basic FE model

Module 2 – Modelling Decisions & Simplifications

Simplification techniques to improve the efficiency of an FE model

Module 3 – Geometry & Meshing

How to treat CAD data when creating an FE model and performing key meshing techniques

 

Day 2

Module 4 – Materials

How to define material properties

Module 5 – Connections

Defining interface types between parts in an assembly

Module 6 – Analysis Settings, Loads & Constraints

A deeper look into setting up an analysis

Module 7 – Results & Validation

How to extract the necessary data from your model and validate the results

 

Day 3

Module 8 – Errors & Debugging

Debugging a model and preventing singularities from influencing results

Module 9 – Design Studies                                                                                       

Determining the effect of a design change on structural performance

Module 10 – Thermal Analysis

Introduction to heat transfer and applying a temperature field to get thermal stress results
